Adding and managing team members
Updated
Every person at your firm gets their own account. That keeps time entries, document edits, and client communications attributed to the right person — which matters for billing and for your professional-responsibility obligations.
Inviting someone
A firm admin can invite new members from Settings → Team. Enter their work email and choose a role; they’ll receive an invitation to set up their account. Invitations go to the exact address you enter, so use the email they’ll sign in with.
Roles
Roles control what people can see and do. Admins manage firm settings, billing, and team membership. Standard members work matters, track time, and use Mylo AI. You can adjust a person’s role at any time — changes take effect the next time they load the portal.
How seats affect your bill
Pricing is per user per month, and each plan has a small seat minimum (3 seats on Starter and Professional, 5 on Premier). Adding a member adds a seat; deactivating one frees it. Client access is always free — clients using Mylo Loop, your firm’s client portal, never count as seats.
When someone leaves the firm
Deactivate their account rather than deleting it. Deactivation immediately ends their access while preserving the history of their work — their time entries, notes, and document activity stay intact on the matters they touched. Their seat is freed for your next hire.
A note on shared logins
Don’t share one account among several people. Beyond the audit-trail problems, it breaks per-person features — task assignments, notifications, calendar sync — in ways that are hard to untangle later. If cost is the concern, talk to us about the right plan instead.
