Setting up your firm's workspace
Updated
When your firm’s workspace is created, a short guided setup walks you through the essentials. Here’s the same checklist in one place, in the order most firms do it.
1. Complete your firm profile
Add your firm’s name, logo, address, and letterhead details under Settings. These flow into invoices, client communications, and generated documents — set them once and everything downstream looks right.
2. Connect your calendar
Mylo Prime syncs with Google Calendar. Once connected, consultations, hearings, and deadlines you create in the portal appear on your existing calendar, and vice versa.
3. Add your first matters and contacts
Create a few active matters and their client contacts. You don’t need to migrate your whole book of business on day one — most firms start with new intake and backfill older matters over their first month. If you have a large migration, ask us about the data importer through the support form; we help with structured imports from your previous practice-management system.
4. Invite your team
Add each attorney, paralegal, and staff member with their own account — see Adding and managing team members. Shared logins cause confusion in audit trails and billing, and each plan’s per-seat pricing covers exactly the people who sign in.
5. Set up billing basics
Enter your default hourly rates, connect online payments, and — on Professional and above — configure trust accounting before you take your first retainer. See Trust & IOLTA accounting.
6. Meet Mylo
Ask Mylo AI something about one of the matters you created. The assistant is included in every plan and is the fastest way to get a feel for what the platform can do — see What Mylo AI can and can’t do.
Premier and Enterprise firms get hands-on onboarding — your implementation contact will schedule working sessions for each of these steps. On any plan, if you get stuck, send us a request and we’ll walk you through it.
